  • Cities Alliance and Kenya's Turkana County Government co-host Sustainable Integration – Reflections on Local Interventions and Urban Refugee Policy. The peer-learning event will take place in Lodwar, Kenya, 31 Jan - 2 Feb and will include a series of round table discussions and technical sessions on topics such as: A model of integration - The experience from Turkana County, Kenya: The role of local actors in managing migration along the Eastern Desert Route, Ethiopia; Using ecosystem mapping to engender social cohesion and sustainable livelihoods; The role of data in legal protection and inclusive urban planning in cities hosting refugees: the case of Arua, Uganda; Urban planning and management approaches for the integration of refugees and IDPs - Experiences from Ethiopia and Somalia; Integration of refugees in resource-constrained municipalities: The case of Koboko, Uganda; IGAD's work on cross-border programming on migration and mobility.

  • Bond - FCDO contracts essentials - Mar 8-10 2023 - What you will learn : How to adapt your organisation to move from grant applications to contract tenders. What the application process involves and the different roles your organisation can take. How to build more effective partnerships by reviewing the risks from different perspectives. Understand what your organisation is committing to and how to anticipate and prevent future challenges. How contracts are presented at the bid stage and the impact this has on the programme design, including budgets and payment by results.

  • Disaster Ready - Quality and Accountability in Humanitarian Action - (log in required) In this free online course, you will learn about standard practices to ensure quality and accountable programs for people and communities affected by crisis. This resource provides guidance on how to conduct key activities throughout the project cycle to effectively engage with communities to meet their needs and to ensure protection from sexual exploitation, abuse, and harassment (PSEAH) to deliver a more accountable, relevant response. This online course was created in collaboration with CHS Alliance and is mobile friendly.

  • GSMA - Unlocking Rural Mobile Coverage - Feb 23 2023 for 3wks - This course considers the challenges and opportunities that the public and private sectors face in bringing coverage to the uncovered, thereby giving them access to greater social and economic opportunities. Course Objectives - 1) Explore the role of the government and the private sector in improving connectivity. 2) Understand how innovation and infrastructure sharing can help bridge the coverage gap. 3) Learn about best practices in policy and regulation to foster investment in rural networks. 4) Learn from examples of successful rural coverage projects.

  • Human Rights Careers - Operational Research for Humanitarians - In this course by University of Geneva you will develop fundamental knowledge and skills to engage in agencies, and multilateral institutions.Fellows must have a demonstrated track record of commitment toward advocacy to advance the rights and safety of people experiencing displacement.Submit an application and résumé  before  February 28, 2023 at 12:00 p.m. ET to https://refugeesinternational.bamboohr.com/careers/36 humanitarian research. The course will cover humanitarian research methods, study design and outline how operational research can advance humanitarian practice. The entire course takes roughly 17 hours to complete and is self-paced. The instructors recommend taking it over the course of five weeks. You can audit the course for free or choose to opt-in for a verified certificate for a fee. Prices may vary based on your location and currency but are normally around $49.

  • Refugees International - Refugee Fellows Program (Fully-funded) - Fellows will receive a $15,000 grant in four quarterly instalments of $3,750 throughout the year. The Refugee Fellows program is a remote opportunity and is open to any individual who has personally experienced forced displacement, regardless of status. Fellows will be emerging leaders in the refugee advocacy community and will partner with Refugees International during a one-year term to advance the rights and safety of displaced people around the world.The program will help equip emerging leaders to advocate before donors, governments, aid
