The Famine Early Warning Systems Network is a leading provider of early warning and analysis on food insecurity. Created by USAID in 1985 to help decision-makers plan for humanitarian crises, FEWS NET provides evidence-based analysis on approximately 30 countries.

Price Bulletins are produced monthly and available by country. They provide graphs tracking the prices of commodities that are important locally.

The Food Systems Dashboard combines data from multiple sources to give users a complete view of food systems. Users can compare components of food systems across countries and regions. They can also identify and prioritize ways to sustainably improve diets and nutrition in their food systems.

TheGlobalEconomy.com serves researchers, business people, academics, and investors who need reliable economic data and other indicators such as governance, risk, state fragility,  on foreign countries. The data series are updated continuously based on the release dates of individual countries.

The Humanitarian Data Exchange (HDX) is an open platform for sharing data across crises and organisations. Launched in July 2014, the goal of HDX is to make humanitarian data easy to find and use for analysis.

HDX is managed by OCHA's Centre for Humanitarian Data, which is located in The Hague. OCHA is part of the United Nations Secretariat and is responsible for bringing together humanitarian actors to ensure a coherent response to emergencies.

In response to the need for timely and accurate information on the movements and needs of the displaced population, the IOM in Uganda began implementing the Displacement Tracking Matrix (DTM) in March 2018.


The DTM activities include Flow Monitoring Registry (FMR) and Flow Monitoring Surveys (FMS), which aim at providing disaggregated data on the movements volume and trends as well as qualitative information on individuals’ educational and vocational backgrounds of travellers, their intended destinations, the routes taken, and the challenges faced along the way.


IOM is currently monitoring population flows at twenty-one points of entry (POE), fifteen on the Ugandan border with DRC and six along the border with South Sudan. The data collected is shared with relevant governmental stakeholders and other humanitarian partners to develop adequate interventions and provide the necessary assistance.

FTS is a centralized source of curated, continuously updated, fully downloadable data and information on humanitarian funding flows from government donors, UN-administered funds, UN agencies, NGOs and other humanitarian actors and partners

The European Commission Joint Research Center is the technical lead of INFORM.
